My name is Luther Poche, founder of the Dylan Kyle Poche Memorial Foundation, Inc. This foundation was established in the loving memory of my son, Dylan, who attended Northwestern State University and was a proud member of the NSU Fishing team. Fishing brought so much happiness to Dylan and he excelled in it. It was his passion…his favorite hobby…his happy place.

After Dylan’s tragic and unexpected death, our family wanted to find a way to turn the hurt of his passing into something positive…not just for our sakes, but for every single life he touched. We set up the Dylan Kyle Poche Memorial Fishing Scholarship to help others, who share this same passion for fishing, achieve their scholastic goals while doing something they love. This endeavor has brought our entire family so much joy knowing we can give something back while honoring our beloved son. The proceeds not only benefit the scholarship recipients but also provides funding for the entire NSU Fishing Team.

This year will mark our 9th annual Dylan Kyle Poche Memorial Bass Tournament. This tournament has been a resounding success and has grown in leaps and bounds each year. Since the tournament’s inception, we have been able to donate over $180,000 to fund our scholarship. We are expected to surpass last years totals of 560 anglers. It will be held on March 22, 2025 at Cypress Bend on Toledo Bend Lake. And, as usual, any outside donations are always welcome.

This tournament is a huge fundraiser for us and would not be possible each year without the support of local companies and businesses. The valuable products and services as well as sponsorships donated by these entities are a vital key to our success. We need your support!
